SUMMER 2027 INTERNSHIP

  • The Internship Program is a 10-week summer experience designed to equip young adults to grow in spiritual maturity, develop leadership skills, and live out their faith through hands-on ministry experience. Interns will serve in key areas such as recreation, food service, cafe/grill operations, and housekeeping—while participating in an intentional leadership and discipleship curriculum. This experience provides meaningful community, personal growth, and a deeper understanding of what it means to serve Christ while living a life on mission.

    • Age: 18–24 years old

    • Commitment: Able to commit to the full 10-week summer program

    • Residential Requirement: Must live on Camp Chautauqua’s campus for the duration of the program. Living in community is an essential part of the internship and its spiritual and leadership development experience.

    • Character: A desire to grow in faith, serve others, and develop as a Christ-centered leader.

    • Spiritual Development: Participate in intentional discipleship and spiritual development curriculum that challenges you to grow in your relationship with Christ.

    • Leadership Development: Build practical leadership skills through training, mentorship, and hands-on responsibilities.

    • Hands-On Ministry: Serve in various areas of camp operations while learning how everyday work contributes to the ministry and mission of Camp Chautauqua.

    • Intentional Community: Grow alongside fellow interns and staff through shared living, meaningful relationships, accountability, and encouragement in faith.

  • POSITION OVERVIEW:

    Camp Chautauqua is hiring reliable and hard-working individuals to join our team as Summer Staff for the 2026 season. Summer Staff play an important role in supporting camp operations. Primary responsibilities in food service and additional support in a variety of departments across camp. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy serving others, working in a team environment, helping create a positive experience for campers and guests, and are adaptable to changing tasks.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist with food preparation, serving, and cleanup for daily meals

    • Operate and serve guests in our on-site food locations, including The Grandview Grill and The Porch (Snack Shop)

    • Maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen, dining, and food service areas

    • Support the housekeeping team by cleaning guest cabins and common areas

    • Support the operations of various departments such as food service, recreation, housekeeping, maintenance, landscaping, and guest services

    • Provide excellent service to campers, guests, and staff while representing Camp Chautauqua with professionalism and integrity 

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must be at least 16 years old

    • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and attention to detail

    • Ability to adapt to various roles and work both independently and as part of a team

    • Dependable, flexible, and willing to assist where needed

    • Occasional weekend and evening availability required

  • POSITION OVERVIEW:

    Camp Chautauqua is seeking responsible and attentive individuals to join our summer team as Lifeguards. Lifeguards play a key role in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all guests using the pool. This position is ideal for individuals who are dependable, safety-minded, and enjoy working outdoors in a team environment. Certification is required; however, Camp Chautauqua offers the certification course for qualified candidates who are not yet certified. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Monitor pool activities to ensure a safe environment for all swimmers

    • Enforce pool rules and regulations consistently and fairly

    • Respond to emergencies and provide first aid or CPR as needed

    • Conduct regular inspections of safety equipment and pool areas

    • Perform regular cleaning and upkeep of the pool deck and surrounding areas

    • Support recreation staff with other camp activities as desired

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must be at least 16 years old

    • Strong swimming skills required

    • Current Lifeguard Certification required (Chautauqua provides a certification course at the beginning of summer if needed)

    • Ability to remain alert and act quickly in emergency situations

    • Dependable, responsible, and team-oriented

    • Occasional weekend and evening availability required
