SUMMER 2026 INTERNSHIP

The Internship Program is a 10-week summer experience designed to equip young adults to grow in spiritual maturity, develop leadership skills, and live out their faith through hands-on ministry experience. Interns will serve in key areas such as recreation, food service, cafe/grill operations, and housekeeping—while participating in an intentional leadership and discipleship curriculum. This experience provides meaningful community, personal growth, and a deeper understanding of what it means to serve Christ while living a life on mission.

Commitment: 10-week summer program
Housing:
Interns 18-24 years old live on campus
Interns 16-17 years old must have local housing and reliable transportation to and from Chautauqua unless they have completed one year of the internship previously

Deepen your relationship with Christ through Bible study, worship, and intentional spiritual development curriculum.
A commitment of 30-45 hours per week and have a desire to grow spiritually, serve others, and develop as a Christ-centered leader.
Serve in various ministry areas, gaining practical workplace skills while making an eternal impact.
Build lifelong friendships through shared experiences and meaningful service alongside other interns.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Camp Chautauqua is hiring reliable and hard-working individuals to join our team as Summer Staff for the 2026 season. Summer Staff play an important role in supporting camp operations. Primary responsibilities in food service and additional support in a variety of departments across camp. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy serving others, working in a team environment, helping create a positive experience for campers and guests, and are adaptable to changing tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with food preparation, serving, and cleanup for daily meals
Operate and serve guests in our on-site food locations, including The Grandview Grill and The Porch (Snack Shop)
Maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen, dining, and food service areas
Support the housekeeping team by cleaning guest cabins and common areas
Support the operations of various departments such as food service, recreation, housekeeping, maintenance, landscaping, and guest services
Provide excellent service to campers, guests, and staff while representing Camp Chautauqua with professionalism and integrity
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 16 years old
Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and attention to detail
Ability to adapt to various roles and work both independently and as part of a team
Dependable, flexible, and willing to assist where needed
Occasional weekend and evening availability required

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Camp Chautauqua is seeking responsible and attentive individuals to join our summer team as Lifeguards. Lifeguards play a key role in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all guests using the pool. This position is ideal for individuals who are dependable, safety-minded, and enjoy working outdoors in a team environment. Certification is required; however, Camp Chautauqua offers the certification course for qualified candidates who are not yet certified.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor pool activities to ensure a safe environment for all swimmers
Enforce pool rules and regulations consistently and fairly
Respond to emergencies and provide first aid or CPR as needed
Conduct regular inspections of safety equipment and pool areas
Perform regular cleaning and upkeep of the pool deck and surrounding areas
Support recreation staff with other camp activities as desired
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 16 years old
Strong swimming skills required
Current Lifeguard Certification required (certification training provided if needed)
Ability to remain alert and act quickly in emergency situations
Dependable, responsible, and team-oriented
Occasional weekend and evening availability required

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Chautauqua is seeking energetic and responsible individuals to join our summer team as a Raft Guide. Guides lead groups down the Great Miami River, ensuring each guest has a safe and enjoyable experience. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, leading groups, and creating memorable experiences for campers. Training is provided for qualified applicants.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and supervise rafting trips for campers
Conduct safety briefings and enforce all water safety rules
Inspect and maintain rafts, paddles, and safety gear
Assist with other recreation activities and facility operations as assigned
Provide excellent customer service and represent Camp Chautauqua positively
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be 17 years or older
Strong swimming skills required
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Dependable, safety-conscious, and team-oriented
Have weekend availability
