Volunteer Opportunities

Looking for a place to serve? Need a summer job? Join the Chautauqua family.

There are two ways to serve:

  • Volunteer Ministry Partners are those who are 18 yrs or older or have graduated high school. They have the opportunity to work all summer as a part of a focus area that blends their talents with their willingness to serve.
  • Part-time/Full-time Staff are individuals who are looking to spend their entire summer serving alongside others who are making an eternal impact in the life of students. Chautauqua provides a unique opportunity to develop and use your God-given gifts to make an eternal impact in the lives of students. You will get a wide variety of experience in different areas of camp life. You'll have a great time even if it is only because you know, "I will get to do something different tomorrow!"
  • VOLUNTEER/STAFF POSITIONS:

Asst. Nurse - Organized, detailed, assertive, and self-motivator. Confident in medical skills and ability to stay calm and in control in all situations. Ministry and servant minded.

Digital Media - Videographers and photographers with editing skills. Will capture daily adventures of campers on film and create highlight films each evening.

Coffee Shop/Bowling Alley - They are responsible for coordinating the operation of the Coffee Shop and Gift Shop. Chautauqua's retail operations contribute to the overall camp community and heavily to camp revenue. Duties include selling product, inventory control, cash handling.

Prep Cook - Responsible for making sure every meal is served hot and on time! Must have a love for kitchen ministry and eager to take initiative as they will be helping in the kitchen and/or meal lines throughout the summer.

Office/Accounting - Helping out in the office with phone calls and scheduling. Might also work behind the scenes with our Finance Manager to help us continue to be good stewards of God's resources. This will also be a valuable internship for anyone in a business major, but especially those majoring in Accounting. Must enjoy taking initiative and working in the office a majority of the time. Some experience in business is preferred, but not required.

Building & Grounds Crew - Applicants should be able to work well both alone and with others. Have fun while doing hard work. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    -Basic housekeeping, and facility upkeep

    -Landscaping and grounds maintenance

    -Special projects as they arise

Zip Line- Looking for adventure? This area of ministry would require a love of heights as well as special training and certification.

We are looking for Christ-following men and women who are seeking to serve in a camp environment with willingness to be used in every way the Lord provides. We look forward to you becoming a part of the Chautauqua family. If you are interested in either a volunteer or staff position please email me at jason@thecampbytheriver.com (LAUNCH FORM)
